Connecting to Gmail
Give Orbi a look at your inbox without letting it send anything yet. Two minutes, reversible in one click.
Open Settings, then Connections You will see every tool Orbi can connect to, and the access level for each one.
Choose Gmail and pick Read only Orbi can now read and sort mail. It cannot send, archive or delete anything.
Approve the Google prompt Google shows exactly which permissions are requested. Read only asks for gmail.readonly and nothing else.
Wait for the first sort The first pass over your inbox takes about a minute. Orbi shows what it would file where, and waits for your ok.
What read only means
Orbi reads message headers and bodies to sort and summarize. It stores a 30 day cache so it can answer questions about recent mail. Nothing is written back to your account.
Upgrading to write access later
When you are ready for drafts and follow-ups, go back to Connections and switch Gmail to Read and write. Every draft still waits for your approval; write access only changes what Orbi is allowed to do once you say yes.
Disconnecting removes the cache within 24 hours. The activity log keeps a record of what Orbi did while connected.
